Making some tweaks

If you're reading my blog in a feed reader, c'mon over to the HTML version and take a look -- it's painfully bright! Thanks to Lilia for making a beautiful template which I promptly uglified, and thanks to everybody who built the Styles Library and StyleCatcher for Movable Type so I could easily swap in this theme.

(Don't fret if it really does hurt your eyes; I can change the design with a few clicks. I just wanted to play with this for now.) And yeah, if you didn't know, this XHTML structure works on LiveJournal, TypePad, and Movable Type, so I could theoretically ask millions of people to use bright purple on their sites and it'd be technically possible. Ain't technology grand?

Yeah it is kinda… purple..

I dunno though, it’s a bit too generic surely?

Ach what do I know, as long as YOU like it (and it does have some rather nice subtle touches).

You might want to tweak the HTML for the HTML version link as it’s “gorn orf” …

Good lord, it is pink. And purple. Purple and pink. Quite an achievement.

It really is better than the previous design though.

Technology is indeed grand my friend. What do you call the new look? Lila(c)?

The html version link is quite broken at the moment.. looks like your backend gave you an extra span=”caps” where you didn’t want it.

That aside, i like the new look, bright as it is =)

The layout is good but the purple / pink is so bright it’s burning my eyes. ;)

You weren’t kidding.

The MT styleCatcher is pretty sweet.

Yes. Painfully bright! But keep writing, the articles are always insightful. And besides, Bloglines dims the wattage of your new found brilliance!

Your “HTML version” link is broken.

(And why don’t you do OpenID yet?)

Scott Johnson

Posted October 4, 2005 19:51

Looking good. But what happened to OpenID/TypeKey support?

Oops, TypeKey/OpenID support is back. I had omitted one little step in redoing all my templates.

You being the no. 1 Prince-fan in the known universe, the new color was no surprise.
